Default RELIABLE TOP GAMING PC

FOR A LONG TIME I HAVE READ SO MANY REVIEWS ABOUT GPU'S THAT MY EYE'S POP OUT, I AM NOT A HARDWARE GEEK BUT I DO WANT SIMPLY THE BEST POSSIBLE GAMING PC LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE BUT CHOOSING THE HARDWARE IS NOT SIMPLE.

I ONLY WILL PLAY WITH A SINGLE MONITOR BUT WANT THE 2500 - 1600 RESOLUTION SCREEN WHICH IS THE HIGHEST AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT, ALSO I WANT TO BEST AND MOST SUITABLE GPU SETUP, I READ THE HD 6990 IN CROSSFIRE IS THE "BOMB" FOR SUPER HIGH RESOLUTION BUT IT IS SAID THAT TRI-FIRE IS BETTER AND MORE STABLE, SO IS HD 6990 IN TRI-FIRE POSSIBLE AND WILL IT INDEED BE BETTER THEN 2 6990?

ALSO THE NEW HD 7970 IS COMING UP SO THAT WILL BLAST AWAY THE HD 6990 WHEN IN CROSSFIRE, AS FOR 4 WAY I WAS TOLD IT WILL GIVE THE BEST OF THE BEST, BUT AGAIN I WAS TOLD IT IS TOO UNSTABLE....

SO FOR US GAMERS WHO WANT THE BEST, HAVE THE FINANCE, BUT ALSO THE MOST STABLE AND MOST RELIABLE GAMING PC WHAT IS ADVISED.

It's advised to LOOSE THE CAPS lock...

I believe that you can tri-fire a 6990 with a 6970....

Lol...I wouldn't go trifire or quadfire....it's just more chances of bad scaling/issues/heat/power draw and the fact that the new cards are coming out, I wouldn't fork much cash on HD6990/HD6970s....

I'd say 2 X 7970, but I would possibly wait to see nVIDIA's new offering benchmarks BEFORE buying....

I second that no going crossfire. I have had nothing but a PITA when setting up drivers with my 6950's. I have read that bf3 runs at a avg for ~40fps at 2560x1600 , thats with FXAA and 16xAF on a 7970 @ 25x16. Gives you some sort of an idea where a single card stands.

The question is what kind of games will you be playing?
