My System Specs

Default Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 vs EVGA GTX 560 Ti

I'm curious which one of these I'm better off with for everyday gaming/computer use etc...

Also which one will hold its value better?

EVGA GTX 560 Ti

Canada Computers | Video Cards | EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB 1024MB GDDR5 (01G-P3-1561-KR) nVidia GeForce GTX 560 Chipset 1GB DDR5 Dual Display DVI-I/Mini-HDMI PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card
Newegg.ca - EVGA 01G-P3-1561-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB
P/N : 102-C21601-00-AT
SKU# : 21188-00-40R

Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Video Card - SAPPHIRE - 21188-00-40R

I believe this is the one that is unlockable to 6970 but havn't had enough time to completely research it yet also read that sometimes its better to overclock rather then bios flash to 6970 (recommend that would be cool too lol which should I do?)

Thanks for any input folks!

I'd pick the 560ti for overclocking performance up to resolution of 1920x1080, 6950 for any resolution over. Only the first revision of 6950s were able to be unlocked to 6970, new ones have their cores laser cut so you cannot unlock them. Since you are in Canada check out memoryexpress.com, sometimes they have the directcuII 560ti for $215. oh btw you put 9650in the thread title i was thinkin woah this guys from the future :O

just checked, the directcuII is same price as the evga, both with mail in rebate Memory Express, Inc. - Computer Parts & Laptop Computers in Canada

In Canada the warranty is great cuz its local not HK like sapphire and the cards are built super solid I am taking my 6970's apart right now to water cool them but on air they were amazing.

I guess I should have mentioned I already have both of these but am curious which one is going to be better overall and for the long haul! I thought the 2GB would make a huge difference but now not quite sure from the reading I did online etc....

I just got the 6950 today so I havn't had much time to play with it. Ofcourse it was picked up used as well but is in immaculate shape! The info and SKU's etc are from the 2 actual cards I have with me right now.

Great choice on the 6950, especially used to save a few $$.

It really depends on what game you are going to play.
ATI is not very hot for supporting their drivers for some of the latest games such as Skyrim. They are slowly working on the solution but not as up to par as nVidia guys.
