My System Specs

Default 5970 + PhysX Card
Ok so i found this forum with a modded driver to run a PhysX card on ATi setup

i will be running a Radeon HD 5970 2GB with a Zotac GTS 250 1GB

now anyone have the right steps into making this happend ? and properly ?

last time i tried.. took 20min to load into windows with my 5970 and a GT430 hopefully this time works like a charm

I couldn't imagine it being worth the problems.

I think the only game I've ever played with physx was Batman: AA

Not worth the problems, and there are what, 4 games out with phys-x that were even popular ? It is a gimmick at best to lure team red to the green side.

What problems? It was painless when I was using a Radeon HD 3850(and later 5750) with a GeForce 9600GSO for physx.

Well, I gave it a shot back in November. I was running X-fire 5870s and a GTX450. at that point the latest drivers that work with the "hybrid mod" were 260.63. It took me a while to find those drivers.

I followed the hybrid mod instructions and they worked just fine. 3d vantage 10 doesn't detect the physx card for some reason, but fluidmark 1.3.1 does (after I deleted physxdevice.dll) I tried the Physx screensaver, mafia 2 etc... And it worked, but graphically the difference was negligible. Definitely not worth the time nor the effort.

Yep, overall very very few games use PhysX to its full effect, many use Physics of differing companies, but PhysX is only for a handfull, and I believe there was only maybe 3-4 titles that it was worth having in a general sence, overall, its best not to go through the hassles, unless you REALLY like those specific games.

I remember playing Mirror's Edge with my twin 9800GT + 8800GTS setup with PhysX turned on. It just made glass (along with my FPS) shatter.

I mean, it's just adding extra eyecandy, there's absolutely nothing substantial from running PhysX. But if you can get that card running just fine in an ATI/AMD setup then all the power to you.

just eye candy, ati/amd to get CF working is a chore where Nv is a click

physx titles
