My System Specs

Default I need Opinions Please

I currently am using a GTX260. I was waiting until late January to buy a new video card. I was thinking about getting one of AMDís new 7900 cards. The wife however bought me a 6970 for christmas. So I would like some opinions on which way to go. Send the 6970 back and wait, or just put it in the computer and use it. Currently playing Battlefield 3 and would like to play @ 1920x1200 on ultra.
Thanks,
James

the 6970 would do that :) and it would buy you points to use the gift your wife got you :)

Personally I'd just keep it!

and you could also keep the GTX260 as physx processor, of course if the PSU is strong enough

or even add a second 6970 / 6950, which will be cheaper and more powerful than a 7970.

She is fine with me exchanging it. I have also contemplated exchanging it for a GTX580. Iíve had Nvidia for so long, Iím hesitant to try something new.

I would exchange, but I am green team till death do us part lol. The 6970 is an awesome card my friend has two of those exact cards and they can max everything at 1080P. I would grab an EVGA 570 2.5GB myself, and that should hold you for a couple years.
P.S. I am jealous lmao I got a couple $20 canadiens collectibles from my gf....she got a $450 platinum/diamond ring.

6970 will max out the game at your res not including full AA of course. Keep the card and boost up them wife points but if she's fine with exchanging it I'd go for a 580 instead too but I've always been with nvidia.. don't want to try something new either..

Nice gift bro, I will keep the 6970 video card, maybe sell the GTX260 and get another 6970, then rock all your games
