Any idea what motherboard that is? Usually it's not the motherboard, but it's the case that's the issue wrt fitting a vid card in.

Looks to me like the length wouldn't be a problem.... I suspect you would be able to move that SSD around to somewhere else. OTOH, those mem slots look awfully close to where the vid card would be.....

aslong as you have about 1/8th of an inch past the mother board you should be good because the 6870 is just ever so slightly longer than a mother board is wide.

Those memory slots do look abnormally close. Weird. Can you take a picture from a different angle (from the back looking forward and closer to the PCIe slot)?

I would worry a little about the memory slots they are close but I think it will just touch the locks when the locks are closed . Now as for that Case it looks to be a little small you might have to remove part of the hard drive cage.

there are short 6870's like this one Newegg.com - XFX HD-687A-ZHFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card which is only 8.66 inches long plus a few others like it

although the RAM slots seem pretty close they probably won't touch, the RAM is about 0.5 cm above the current graphics card i have installed and looking at the 6870 unboxing and installation videos i can see the card doesn't get any higher than the slot it's placed in. my biggest worry actually were the rails under the slot (for adding a cooler i think?). my PC is still sealed with the warranty so i can't provide pics and i haven't changed a graphics card before on my previous PC's so i've got no idea what can get in the way and what can't.

Try measuring it with a ruler/tape, then compare the results from your case to the advertised card dimensions. Much more definitive answer than a guess based on a picture.
