My System Specs

Default Looking to Upgrade my Graphic card

Hey Guys , Please have a look at my System Spec
So I have had those GTX 470 for around a year now, and I am looking for a small stepping stone graphic card to get while I wait for the new ones to be released on March as I am getting annoyed by the frequent momentary fan noise burst while it's on standby.
Can you guys suggest me anything at all?
I am currently looking at the Asus GTX 580 Matrix , or an Gigabyte 6970 OC.
Let me know what u guys think!
Thanks

If the fan noise is your main annoyance, then just make a custom fan speed profile with MSI Afterburner. It's a pretty common problem/solution.
If I was you, I would have wait till the next gen for upgrades, but if budget isn't a concern than my personal 580 favorites are the MSI Lightning and the Gigabyte Windforce versions.
I would love to suggest you a 6970, but lots of cases about driver issues prevents me from doing so.
And BTW if you could mention your resolution it would be helpful :)

Here are the rather excellent reviews of the GTX 580 cards by HWC:

Gigabyte GTX 580 Super Overclock Review

ASUS RoG GTX 580 Matrix Platinum Review

By the sound of your post you are still content with the 470 performance, so I also vote to try and fix the problem. As mentioned above, give msi afterburner a try to make a fan profile that keeps your card cool, but still gives it the cooling it needs to keep temps in check. Another option could be to consider an aftermarket cooler to get you by until you need an upgrade.

If you do want an upgrade then a any of the 580 mentioned will serve you well, but the gigabyte windforce seems to be getting praise for being quiet lately (the version with 3 fans on top).

I am using them for daily 1920x1080 games, and some tripple monitor setup on 5760x1080
Nvidia surround crashes a lot upon starting up or switching back to 3x 1920x1080 that's why I was considering on getting an AMD card..
Performance wise I am still very happy with the dual GTX 470.
U guys think it's worth getting a GTX 580 atm?

If you can wait till April (if I recall) for the new Nvidia cards then save you money for them, or if you really can't wait that long then go for the GTX580.

If you're happy with the performance of your setup, then don't. Just play with the fan settings.
And on top of that a single 580 won't be any faster. Unless you find used cheapo 2x570s or a 590.

Once again I agree. Also, a single 580 won't let you run your triple monitor setup.

I am aware than I can't use all 3 monitors if I change to the 580.
March-April just seem a bit too long.. =(
What I also wanted to try is to water cool my GTX 470s, but all the stores that I searched has none left.
Any Ideas where to get the waterblock?

EK' s online store you can get a universal block or a full cover, if you want to do the same with your next cards id suggest getting the universal block so you dont have to spend 100 dollars per block
