6990 beats 590. Everytime. Everyday. Forever. Sorry for being curt but it's the truth.
I'm just repeating what I've read other people say, not making stuff up or assuming anything. Ran a poll here with 62 voters and it wasn't happy news for ATI drivers.

Well, I hate getting into the arguing about brand A vs B as well, but I still can't stand people being ignorant. "6990 beats 590. Everytime. Everyday. Forever. Sorry for being curt but it's the truth."

Right... Let's just rush in and say this card wins because I have some graphs that show higher fps across these games at this setting. As 95% of reviews said, there is not clear winner as both cards are almost identical, the only difference being the ability of the 6990 to over-clock better and it's loud on top of already too loud.

This is why I normally don't post on this stuff. What are you basing your driver problems on? Bf3 like every other person on the planet? Could it be that bf3 itself is the problem and not the video card? Incase you have forgotten or didn't know... bf2 had patches 5 years after it was released. Bf3 has a very long ways to go before it is working as intended. Such are EA (cough cough.. BETA) games for as long as I can possibly remember. People who buy EA games are full time beta testers it seems. I know... I am one.

ATI has released 3 new drivers in the past 30ish days just for bf3. Drivers are NOT the issue. AMD is not sitting idly by letting their customers suffer because a few new games have shitty programming. Next time BF3 releases a major patch we'll be getting new vid drivers again no doubt.

And I'm not being ignorant nor am I intending to argue with you about the 6990 vs 590. 6990 is simply the better card. Crossfire; for a very long time now, has beat out sli and from my readings a couple high end 570's sli'd can beat the 590 and the 6990. The posters original question was which card should I pick and I'm simply trying to post the facts here unlike a few others.

6990 trumps the 590.

All high quality vid cards with stock cooling are noisy. Granted the 6990 might be louder but who cares? People don't buy high end video cards expeting them to be quiet heh. Most of them sound like leaf blowers to me. IF you want a quiet card you water cool or spend the money on 3rd party air cooling.

Next to my ssd. Buying Levasque's water cooled 6970 was a good purchase. So long leaf blower.

yeah cls that's what I'm worried about on how that 6990 is so LOUD. Is it complicated to install water cooling onto a video card? And I was wondering would a 360 rad be enough for a cpu and gpu water cooling loop and lastly if it would be possible to mount it inside on the top of a cooler master HAF X or would there not be enough space? and if not what should I do? OH YEAH uhm lets say I run a leak test and water gets on my parts would they ruin it or what (I'm gonna use a premix solution btw)? Sorry for all the questions :/ haha

Water cooling isn't that hard to do and is worth the investment in my humble opinion. Patience is the key. Easiest way is to start with a kit. In my humble opinion.

These 2 are decent enough I'm sure some of the water guru's might have some input

EK Complete Watercooling kit H3O LT 360 (Triple Rad) EK Complete Watercooling kit H3O LT 360 (Triple Rad) [H3O-360LT] - $224.99 : DazMode, The Best Canadian PC Watercooling and Modding Store!

EK Complete Watercooling kit H3O HF 360 EN (Triple Rad) EK Complete Watercooling kit H3O HF 360 EN (Triple Rad) [H3O-360HF-EN] - $289.99 : DazMode, The Best Canadian PC Watercooling and Modding Store!

Then the vid card Daz can help you pick the right one too.

Your case will support an interal 360 rad according to this link

Contact Dazmode on the in the water cooling forum and he will be happy to escort you through your purchase and answer most of your questions. You'll want the power adapter thing to help fill the loop and test for leaks. Daz has them.
