My System Specs

Default Sapphire or XFX radeon 6870 to crossfire

I have the reference design XFX 6870 currently and am looking to purchase another for crossfire (mainly because i moving to a 1920x1080 monitor from a 1440x900)

The 2 i am thinking about are
XFX - Newegg.com - XFX HD-687A-ZHFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Sapphire - Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100314-3L Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

I have an ocz zs750 power supply that i purchased to be able to run a crossfire configuration (an upgrade to my gs600) so i should be fine on power. My processor is a 955BE (no overclocked but may be in the future). Note that one of the cards will be on a 2.0 x4 lane, but from my research beforehand i have gathered that the performance hit will not be too noticeable. If i left out any vital information i will be more than happy to provide it, just ask

Also as another question is there any reason not to purchase from amazon? I have a 25 dollar gift credit for amazon that i would like to use but if there is any reason that i shouldnt or any reason to stick with newegg i will just use newegg

The sapphire has a better cooler but the xfx comes with a game coupon, and better rma/warranty so xfx

That xfx had some bios issues in the past, but i would hope they have been resolved (would order that from newegg if i got it because i dont want to get an old one) the issue was that the clock was stuck at 775, they fixed it but had heat issues, and then have a third fixed version, but wstill runs hot

Also i already have dirt3

yet another question.... will any 6870s see Friday or Monday sales this coming week or should i just purchase now

Neither. The 6870 is a very, very capable card, even for 1920x1080. The new generation of cards are coming soon, so hold out until then.
