Hello,
I'm just curious whether there will be any performance difference in SLI/CFX at x16/x16 vs x8/x8..

^^ Agreed. I can't remember the site off hand, but if I remember correctly it was <5% difference.

It was 5% for 16x,4x and 8x,8x is even smaller so 2-3%
