I think your putting too much thought into it. Stop looking at the tech and start enjoying games. You know what kind of horsepower I have under the hood of my babies, and they are fun, but theres something to be said about being able to just turn the game on an enjoy the game as a piece of entertainment rather than a technilogical marvel.

That said, get one good largish monitor, and 2 smaller cheaper monitors. Keep the cards you have already and enjoy single mon games on the large center mon, and use the 3 screens on those that support it, or are worth putting the time into fixing yourself.

Yeah, I am leaning towards 2 570s for the single monitor route as well with kepler around the corner I almost want to grab 1-2 of their flagship cards and sit on it for a while (provided the seller I'm talking to decides to sell). I have 1 580 lined up, seems the problem is finding a second one at all (used) though if i went 580 i could add the second one later, but who knows how much later later will be.

Why run a 27 inch monitor? You are spending a ton of extra cash for the same resolution as a 24 inch screen...

^^^ My thoughts exactly JD....Dell 27" = 2560 x 1440 Res.......Any 24" Monitor runs Max Res 1920 x 1200....most are now 1080.

smaller monitors that can do ultra high res DO exist...but they are rare as hens teeth and usually $$$; as they are meant for serious work such as movie or photgraphy studios

Both

Most 27s do not support very high resolutions, the few that do hit a price point that push me over the edge... Hence my 30 incher :)
