Default gtx 550 ti?

i5 2300 2.8ghz
6gb ddr3 ram
64bit os

I'm looking for cards around $100. I saw linus's video on a gtx 550 and searched it up new egg and they were around 120 dollars with rebate.
I have a few questions

what does the ti at the end of the name mean

I know nvidia designed the card, but what is up with all the different companies making the cards, does it matter which company makes it when I buy a card?

Reference cards? are they bad?

with my system specs above, if I buy this graphics card will it be "bottle necked"?

I just want a card that can run games similar to bad company two on medium quality.

If you think i'd be better off with a different card please tell be below

thanks for your suggestions

My System Specs

It won't be bottlenecked, it MIGHT run BC2 on medium settings, and it doesn't matter who you buy it from, they will all perform the same if they're stock clocks.
