graphics card help
I am new at building computers so I dont know which graphics card is best for its price. I was looking at the gtx 560. Is this a good card and will it get good frame in game?
EVGA 02G-P3-1469-KR GeForce GTX 560 Superclocked Video Card - 2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0 (x16), 2x Dual-Link DVI-I, Mini-HDMI, DirectX 11, Dual-Slot, SLI Ready, Overclocked at TigerDirect.com
what card do you reccomend for around the price of 250$?
I would go for the GTX 560 Ti instead of the 560... You can get a 1 Gb version for roughly the same price:
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Fermi 850MHZ 1024MB 4104MHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Mini-HDMI PCI-E Video Card - DirectCanada
ok but what I dont understand is that both have almost the same spec it looks like execpt the stream proccessor on the 560 fermi is a bit higher but the 560 has 2gb so what the differnce. Is stream proccesor better then more video ram?
The 560 is just a cut down version of the 560 Ti (less signal processors) and is similar in performance to the older GTX 460. Unless you are running multiple monitors or very high resolutions 1 Gb should be adequate... I'd go for the higher performing 560 Ti. 2 Gb versions are available but are considerably more expensive (about $50. more). Depends what you need...
thank you for the help.
based on your info I think I will go for the GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB. You think this will handle the new games comming out like battlefield?
get the ASUS gtx560ti DCII, it runs A LOT cooler, faster, looks better, quality is better, overclocks better. and will run bf3 high/ultra settings. plus it comes with free $50 batman arkham city game which is awesome
get the MSI 560ti HAWK which is very popular choice as it has the highest core clock rating for 560 and can overclock even higher, runs cooler, this card was out of stock yesterday and it just came back in stock so i would jump on this before its sold out again.
NCIX.com - Buy MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Hawk OC 950MHZ 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini-HDMI DX11 PCI-E Video Card - MSI/MicroStar - N560GTX-Ti HAWK - in Canada
both cards will run bf3 maxed out no problem.
2gb version is not only limited but barely does any performance improvement.
and why buy from tigerdirect? lol?
What resolution do you game at?
My vote would go to a 1gb 560Ti
I don't think a 2gb model is worth it. you will see very little performance increase if any. 1gb is sufficient @ 1920x1080.
560 ti 1gb @ newegg for $219
Newegg.ca - GIGABYTE GV-N560UD-1G GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Alright I guess I'll go with one of the gtx 560 ti fermi. Thank you all for the advice.
Last time, I checked, there's a PNY 560 Ti 1GB available for $195 incl. rebate.... it's the cheapest and the best deal. The PNY card also has a lifetime warranty.
Buy it at NCIX PM'd @ $225 and then you get a $30 rebate. I don't like rebates but it's still the best deal, imho. As long as it lasts, though.
