Exclamation A little advice? :D

Hello. I'm debating on weather i should get the EVGA GTX 580 or GTX 570 because i'm a little over my budget.
Is there really a BIG difference between the two video cards? I just want to save 100 bucks so ya.
Also, do you know any good gaming monitors for under $200? I found this one but i want to know if its right for me.
LG W2343T-PF, 23" Widescreen HD LCD - 1920 x 1080

Thanks for helping! :D

If you are over budget then grab the 570. Though personally speaking I feel the 580 would be worth the extra cash. Espicallty for single card gaming.

And while on sale, get this monitor. I use one of them at home, and I have no issues with gaming. Not the best of the best, but on a budget it works great.

Here is a performance summary. In this chart ($1500 asus mars II dual gtx 580 is the baseline) the 580 is 6% faster than a 570. IMO the 580 is better, but the 570 is better bang for buck. I will leave the decision if it is worth the extra money to you.

Would go with the GTX 570 still a good card for the $ and will do fine with that LCD.

Would you post the resolution mentioned by Chris (1080) or just copy us a link to this page?

I usually just open the latest video card review from techpowerup and go to performance summary as it includes the newest reviews and GPU. They don't review at 1080p, but there is 1920x1200 if you interested.

I'd save the $100 and just get the 570

I'm sure you will be pleased with a 570. Plus down the road you can just add a second one if you feel you need more firepower.

personally, i was in the same boat as you, my gpu wasn't holding up anymore so I was in the market for a new gpu for now and then purchase a whole new hardware (cpu+mobo+mem) later as my oc'd e8400 won't be much of a bottleneck in today's standards.
So I asked myself...which one would benefit me the most? buying a 560ti, 570 or the almighty 580?
I searched around and found out that for me, 560ti is a really good card for the money, but it really doesn't have the performance edge that I needed and I wouldn't mind spending an extra buck or two to get something better.
so then I looked at GTX570 (specifically the MSI gtx570 twin frozr iii and the asus gtx570 dcII).
my final decision was the MSI gtx570 twin frozr iii because you can easily overclock this thing to gtx580 speed for the price of a 570, I think that was the best bet for me.
