Default EVGA 460 1gb or PNY 560?

01G-P3-1371-AR => $175 + tax/shipping

or

PNY VCGGTX560TXPB => $195* (*after rebate) + tax/shipping

Looking only at limited lifetime warranty cards...

Either that or wait for a used card.... ????????

Just looking......

PNY 560, they have great customer support and you get the latest Architecture GPU.

No doubt in my mind there.

You should be able to pick up a used GTX 460 for $100. or less... Haven't seen too many used 560's for sale though. I'd go with the PNY 560 If you decide to go new.

Can't find any used 460s for a good price. I'm a bit hesitant, too, on used. I missed on a 460 1gb, used, because of my hesitation. :)

Well, to be honest, some financial emergencies came up so I couldn't get it then.

I'm noticing a MSI 460 1gb Hawk goes for $135 so that might be worth it since it gets good reviews so I may be safe despite no lifetime warranty. These have those huge heat sinks with double fans so probably ok with that one.

I may have a hard time saving up for a $200+ card. :-( I agree with ST, that a 560 would be good since it's newer if there's only $20-ish difference between cards. But, that's $200-ish territory.

The other card I'm comparing to now is an XFX 6850.

Any thoughts?

AMD's lacking driver support if you go that route.

Save the cash for the 560. Its the best choice out there from what you are looking at.

Though if you absolutely have to get a 460.

Good advice, thanks.

Also, after reading the reviews for Bulldozer/FX-8150, I might need that cash since I probably will go i5-2500(k) or i7-2600 if I upgrade now. I did the waiting game.... I sure hope nothing happens that effects demand for my LGA 775 stuff! :-/

Or maybe ppl might want it instead of thinking they'd get a good cheap upgrade of new AMD stuff? :)

Oh well.... if I can get $250+-ish, that is almost the i7-2600? :)

Sorry, to make a thread on cards I'm 'saving up' for. :)

Unless you can get two GTX 460's for under 200. I would save to buy a 560Ti card.
2500K still a good chip and cheaper then the 2600K the saving you get there you can go towards a card.
