Default graphics cards
hello linus . I thought of upgrading my computer graphics card to a radeon hd 6950 2gb model and unlock it to a 6970 but there are rumors that the 7000 series cards are going to come out and they have pci express 3.0 so should i wait for the new cards or should i buy a card now!

6950's haven't been able to unlock for ages, unless you can find a used one that guarantees an unlock, then don't have high expectations. The 7000 series won't be out until Q1 2012, so if you're wanting a new video card soon, go for a 6950.

Not to mention that any card that needs PCIe 3.0 will require a motherboard that supports it too.

Not really. PCIe 2 video cards ran at exactly the same speed/performance in PCIe 1 motherboards.

We haven't been able to saturate PCIE 2.0 yet even, all we're running out of on some boards are the number of lanes.
