BC2 will utilize as many as 6 cores AFIK. The more cores, the smoother it runs. With my current setup, i get 110-140 fps at 1920x1080 all settings max except aa which is @4x. My old e8400 was choking bad on that game, both cores were constantly running near 100% and now my i5 760 runs at around 65-75% on all cores.

BF:BC2 matters most to me, as well as BF3 when it is released. I play at 1680x1050 (maybe 1920x1080 if I get a new monitor soon).

Thanks!

PS: This does mean Oroborous may be in for a bit of a restart/update
Since the 260 is paid for, keep it for physx and buy a 560ti. Wait a bit for your jump to sandy bridge. Once you make the jump to sandy bridge, try to squeeze a used 560ti into your budget for sli. You'll be good for a while.

I'm definitely looking up a new i5/p67 right now. Is the MSI P67-G43 a decent choice? NCIX has it on a bundle sale.
don't skimp....

If you look for a decent MSI board, consider a P67a GD55 or GD65...and a decent aftermarket cooler...

BFBC2 will thank you for the quad-core CPU....

I can sell the 260 for $60-80, PhysX isn't worth that much to me . And based on what's been said, the CPU will make a bigger difference (plus it'll speed up my rig in general).

Well as long as it has 2 PCI-E slots and decent VRM cooling what do I have to lose? What does the GD55/65 offer? And I certainly have good cooling, the CPU will have a Supreme LT and a 240mm rad to take care of that
