XFX GeForce 8800GT Evercool

I was looking through Direct Canada and came across this XFX 8800GT. They are selling it for $221.52. I noticed it has a difference cooler on it then the stock cooler and it would be interesting to see if this will cool better than the stock. I haven't been able to find any reviews on this particular card. The Part number is PV-T88P-YHF4.

It almost looks like the cooling on the 8600 GTS, just that the fan is on the other end of the card. http://techreport.com/r.x/geforce-8600/gts-card.jpg

I see hints of the 7600GT or the 7800GT. I think this is a bad design. They need to make coolers more like the 3850 cooler. That one just seems logical. (which is odd, cause ATI usually makes the worst stock coolers. X800 anyone?)

I was thinking it kinda looks like a reversed 8600 GT or GTS cooler. Now I'm leary on getting an 8800 GT will this PSU/8800 issue.

I still find it strange that the PCBs are different between brands. That PCB looks nothing like my Asus 8800GT. I'm still used to ATI and Sapphire, same board different sticker.

Sorry this has nothing to do with this, just an observation

XFX is one of those board manufacturers that have almost always used a black PCB.

I love black pcbs!

I don't like it, same single slot cooler with the exhaust inside the case. I'm very happy with my 8800GT, with the Accelero S1 with dual 120 scythes on top. Load temps of 49C, you can beat that...

edit: forgot to add that I have no problem using the 8000GT with my OCZ StealthExtreme.

I was thinking about getting the 600W OCZ Stealthstreme
