GTX 580 DS with cosmetic damage

2 Attachment(s)
Just got a brand new GTX 580 DS and noticed a scratch on the paint, the item is not an open box, so it looks like it came like that from the factory. The card works fine but that little thing bugs me when I look at it through the case window.
Would you bother replacing it? It's only cosmetics but if it costs an arm and leg it better be perfect I think.
If you do would you go through DirectCanada or EVGA? Do they even consider that kind of flaw? The card is not yet registered.

i say get used to it.

i know you paid what you paid for it and want it to be perfect, but i wouldnt bother.

now if the fan was cracked or something like that? hell yeahy

Pure preference.. I dunno how well EVGA would respond to cosmetic damage though.

I belive Direct Canada has a 30 day satisfcation guarantee? If they are close (won't cost extra shipping, lots of gas, etc.), then why not? It'll make you feel better and in case you need to RMA with EVGA later, they won't claim that it's physically damaged.

Personally, I'd overclock it first. The max overclock can vary greatly from card to card, if this one turns out to be a cherry then I would keep it.

If it bothers you contact DC and they will swap it.

Return/exchange it since it obviously bugs you. You'll "feel better" in the end. :thumb:

A reply form Direct Canada

"We do not warranty physical damage to products, only if the product is defective itself."

So it would cost a shipping, the 15% restocking fee to have it returned for refund and the fact that the price for 580 DS went up everywhere since I bought it if I try to buy a new one.

Waiting for reply from EVGA.

Try PM'ing DC_Support, no idea if it's still active though.
