heres the oc3d review Overclock3D :: Review :: PowerColor HD6870X2 Review :: Introduction and Technical Specifications it has minimums in it. plus i find this x2 pretty damn awesome my self.

Not overly impressed due to the fact its only 2 GB of RAM for the dual gpus, the fact there is no mention of minimum fps and the fact I never had good driver support with the 6870s in crossfire when i owned them. Also note my 560 Tis still spank these cards around, have more head room and run cooler still.

Also the fact that the 6870s rather under-perform on higher resolutions in most resolutions over 1920 (aka eyefinity) against the 560 Tis (again i've had bolth of these cards set up in multiple monitor fashion, running the same game and watching FPS with fraps)

yea thats whats kept me from getting a second 6870. damn my single one heats my room up to a roasty 86 degree F. but it probably doesnt help thats its 106 every day out side:bleh:

reason for which you get a 6950 and some spanking if the 68xx dual doesn't warm yer cold hart :p

if only i could fit the 69xx series in my case. but sadly can not "damn you coolermaster and you storm scout":angry2:

i would probably still take the older HD5970. the HD6870X2 just looks sloppy to me

I pritty much have to agree with this. The 68xx series seemed to me to be a stop-gap solution when nVidia 'caught up' to AT...err AMD (:haha:).

I really hope the next gens dont do this double-dip (triple in some cases) reuse architecture that has been happening since the 8800/9800/gtx250 series rebranding. It makes it very difficult to decide on which card to get at a give price point when in 4-6 months new cards come out and take a chunk off the cost (ala 460-560 fiasco)
