I cant remove my GTX 580!!!! i have 2 gtx 580s in sli on a gigabyte ga-x58 ud5 mobo, and i want to remove one of the cards, the problem is, they seem to be locked into place, even when i put alot of force into pulling it. i have never had a problem reomoving a pci-e card ever plz help if you know what i can do to get this card out. |
There's white clips at the end of the PCI-e slot itself. You have to push them downwards towards the bottom of the motherboard and pull at the same time. http://www.bjorn3d.com/Material/revi...overview/3.JPG |
and or break them after wards so the cards slide out easy, too easy might i add. do it at your own risk,of course :) and welcome aboard! |
Breaking those white tabs could negate any warranty on the board. But as was already stated, push the white tab down while pulling out the card. |
i know, but ive seen 2 dead(physically) mobos and one card or two the past couple months from the exact cause as above :) at least this guy asked before pulling stronger. one guy killed his classy and dual 570's(he tried with the puter on lol) |
Or... in the case of slot 1 and 5, pull the extended tap 'up' and pull the card at the same time... *Edit* But I assume this has been taken care of since it was posted 5 days ago. Didn't even notice. |
Removed a lot of PCI-e but can't figure out how to remove card from PCI-e...yes... |
