I cant remove my GTX 580!!!!
 

i have 2 gtx 580s in sli on a gigabyte ga-x58 ud5 mobo, and i want to remove one of the cards, the problem is, they seem to be locked into place, even when i put alot of force into pulling it. i have never had a problem reomoving a pci-e card ever plz help if you know what i can do to get this card out.

There's white clips at the end of the PCI-e slot itself. You have to push them downwards towards the bottom of the motherboard and pull at the same time.

and or break them after wards so the cards slide out easy,too easy might i add. do it at your own risk,of course :)

Breaking those white tabs could negate any warranty on the board.

But as was already stated, push the white tab down while pulling out the card.

i know, but ive seen 2 dead(physically) mobos and one card or two the past couple months
from the exact cause as above :)

at least this guy asked before pulling stronger. one guy killed his classy and dual 570's(he tried with the puter on lol)

Or... in the case of slot 1 and 5, pull the extended tap 'up' and pull the card at the same time...

*Edit* But I assume this has been taken care of since it was posted 5 days ago. Didn't even notice.

Removed a lot of PCI-e but can't figure out how to remove card from PCI-e...yes...
