My System Specs

Default Totasted both my hd4870x2gb looking for new card

Well a few months ago ( around January of this year) I boagth 2 4870x2gb cards and one of them went after about 1.5 months and then last night the other one went :( , I think that they couldn't handle me running two windowed games ( Kindom heros which you can AFK game to farm supplies) and watching my downloaded TV episodes. So now I am looking for a replacement card, or cards that won't run nearly as hot have good performance and won't break my bank.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 6950s are great cards atm. Can run multiple games across multiple screens for me. Decent price point as well.

That said I ran with 2 4870x2s for a long time and used 3 screens along with multiple game applications videos browsing etc... going on at once without having issues with the cards. Strikes me as weird that you'd lose two in such a short time frame.

Stock cooler isn't bad, but it gets noisy.
I replaced the stock cooler on my Radeon 6950 with the Gelid Icy Vision Rev2 and my card probably does a max of about 55C at full load and my card is overclocked a fair amount; +150MHz on the core and +200MHz on the memory, plus I'm giving the core extra voltage.

If you can support it, get the Asus DirectCU cards, they are beastly and have awesome cooling.

I grabbed the dual fan XFX 2gb card and I run 3 screens off of it. My center screen being a 30" is a bit of a graphics hog and requires a lot of processing power with all my games ran at maximum settings. The highest I've seen it go on "auto fan" is 80degrees. If I toss the fan to about 50% it runs on load at about 60-70 range depends on what I'm doing. The fans on this thing are pretty damn quiet even at 100% fan speed.

That said your cards should not have failed from use like that. Possible bad PSU killing them? Just a thought.
