Default Upgrade from a 8800GTX?

Hi all, I'm in a bit of a confused state regarding my rig lately. My 8800GTX OC can play most of my
games at 1920x1080 but is having problems pushing high quality on some of the newer titles like metro 2033.

Naturally, I'm thinking of upgrading. What should I get? Keep in mind I like nVidia more nowadays, I don't really want to spend more than $200 and I'm still on the P35 chipset with q6600.

think first of a cpu mobo ram overhaul , then worry about graphics.

2500k right now, well see when dozer hits about recommending their 4 core(times two little dwarfs)
instead :)

It's going to be hard to let go of my trusty old Q6600. We've been through too many battles together
On a more serious note, will a change to sandy bridge bring that much more of a performance increase?

cpu and chipset will suffice.. But you've got a really aging card from ages ago. I really suggest looking into upgrading to at least a 560 Ti or 560

And yes .. switch to SB would warranty a pretty substantial increase in overall performance.

well, its no fun having a decent video card with a slower older system :)

even if you just went with the cpu mobo ram upgrade you will see better performance , with the same old card.

if you want to stay nvidia, as per above but get the ti version of the 560. the non ti is like a higher clocked 460..:)

Its better to upgrade the GPU first and if your not happy then upgrade the rest. Why spend a bunch of money into something that may not necessarily be needed?

And there is nothing wrong with the 560s. Just cause its an overclocked 460 you still get benefits of a decent fast card with lower power requirements and a new GPU.

I would go with a 560 ti and if you still feel the need to upgrade then go to SB
