crossfireing questions about my card and another

(skip this paragraph if you like, not really important)
So, I solved the graphics card issue I had before, which is very sketchy.
Was basically putting my case on its back and un screwing it from the case. (the connector seemed to have semi failed) I tried erasing the gold connectors, but it still did not work. So now I have a semi fixed gpu pending RMA once I decide on what to do next.

So i was thinking of getting this card: NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Online PC Discount Store, Buy Computer Accessories
(asus 5870P MATRIX

its the better version of mine I believe. which is a EAH 5870. both cards are made by asus and my mobo has 16x, 16x configuration.
I`m curious if this will be stable and if its a good match as I cant find the EAH 5870 anywhere...

seeing how well 68 series go in pairs? i wouldnt put money down for a 5 series pair :)

unless you find a used one super uber mega terribly cheap(and working)

I already have one 5870, so wouldnt it be more stable if i just get the same type?

well you need another 5850/70 to crossfire with or else it wont work.

but i was saying the 6900 (not 6800) series cards scale madly.

or,keep your one card and wait for the fall? if yo ucan..or sell it and go one 6950,or two?

I was curious as to what came out recently when you mentioned 6900! so i looked it up and I've obviously been out of the loop way to long and it seems the price of cards have droped...allot...

I found this one and it seems really good, for just 100$ more, I'll look up reviews of it but I like asus. Even though my card suddenly took a crap on me, there support makes up for it!

**EDIT**: whats coming in the fall?!

I was eyeballing the Asus 6970 DCII but have deiced to go with This instead IMO a much nicer card, way more options for overclocking and measuring points. Plus if you deiced to go Xfire later you are not limited by the 3 slot cooler.

hhhmmm, definitely a nice card, but I've fallen off the video card O'Cing wagon because I've been so busy :'(

Remember though Dan not everyone wants used, I dont if I need to RMA something used it can be a PITA.

That said, if you dont mind used then yes as always have a look in the BST.

true.might be a good idea to chose one thats always covered,like asus,giga..

who else doesnt ask questions?

i picked up 480's around the 200 dollar mark, and 580's around 300 or lwoer depending on condition.
