Default GTX 260 vs 550 TI

Hi there,

I have an i5 750, running at 3.33ghz and was thinking of going from a GTX 260 to a 550 Ti.

Would it really matter of is my cpu a gimp?

Thanks.

^^Agreed.

The 550 is an improvement over the 260, but honestly I would look at other cards. Going from a 260 I would look for a gtx 460 or better. If you can swing the extra money an hd 6950 or gtx 560 would be an immediately noticeable upgrade that I would recommend.

Sorry guys (and gals), I meant 560 TI, I saw one for 230.00. But maybe the 6950 might be better?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Roundup: ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte & MSI

It really depends on what games you use, ocing or non ocing and whether or not you pack on the aa/af. I buy based on what min fps with aa/af results are then figure out what's a good bang for the buck, 6950 and 560ti win and loose in different games. Justcause2 is a classic ati favorite and BFBC2 is a nvidia favorite.

PNY 560ti at ncix fot $189 after mir, stock clocks though.

the 560 ti is a decent upgrade

but 230$ unless its one of the ones with nice aftermarket designs is kind of overpriced atm:
