PhysX card with 2 580s?

Would I benefit in any way by installing another Nvidia card to use soley for PhysX? If so,which card could I use without having to buy another 580? Will a GTX 240 or 280 work? Would I be wasting PCI slots? Thanks all, for any input.

I don't think you would get much benefit due to the limited amount of physx games and the fact i did some own personal tests with benchmarking (physx tests) and a few games and did not notice a significant performance increase with a 550 as physx with 2 560 Tis in SLI as the gpus. Seeing as you're looking at weaker cards to pair with much stronger main cards i'd advise against it.

for 480/580 anything less than a 560 perhaps = no bueno.

if you want to sli 2 580's and let the driver profile/utility chose physx(recommended) on its own? = better off

PhysX processing doesn't need anything above a GTS 440 to be honest.
