both ATI and nVidia have their fair share of problems...especially if you go multi-gpu. It comes down to luck mostly... the new AMD 6xxx series are known to have more than average but the 5xxx series were quite solid, as a matter of fact I've heard of more people having driver issues with the GF100 cards than any other card b4 (mostly fixed with the GF104 aka gtx460 and newer tho)...

P.S. as a side note downclocked the 5850 to 965mhz on the core because it actually gave higher fps and the mem to 1200 since it didnt affect fps much and just to be safer...
