What kind of idle temps are folks getting under the CCC temp monitor?

I'm seeing around 50c which seems kinda hot to me for idle, but maybe I'm just used to running Riva to bump the fan speeds up to 100%.

Are both cores @ 50? For me I was looking at about 48 / 52 for the two cores at idle.

There's only one temp shown in CCC, and I haven't loaded up riva tuner as it isn't my build and I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle to get RV up and running on it....... :)

Load temp running the freestone video stresser maxed out at 78c and I don't think it bumped the fan up at that temp (I'm guessing it's set at 80c???).

Can switch between "cards" in the CCC much like you would if you hadtwo cards in Crossfire. There should be a drop-down menu above the temperature readings.

Ok, thanks I check that out later. The computer's gone out the door for now, but I'll be getting it back next week for some more tweaking after the owner gets a chance to play with it for a while. (This build took wayyyyyy tooooo long!!!! :) ).

Sky, I love the humour you always include in your reviews - made it an enjoyable read. Seems that the 8800gtx may not be knocked off the top quite yet, but at least ATI is on its way.

Sky, any chance you can get ahold of Power Color's gddr4 version and do a comparison?

I'm seeing 60c on one and 45c on the other at idle..... is that normal, or does it sound like the tim needs work?

I'd vote yes, check the tim.

On a related note, I saw the post, and popped open Everest to see what kind of difference I was getting between my two cores... 45 degrees and 60 at idle. Ack! On water. Double ack!!!

Wasn't easy, but I managed to get the block off the card without opening the loop, and guess what I found? I'd forgotten to put TIM on the cores! Doh!

Anyway, temps are considerably lower now, and within 4 degrees of each other.

Unfortunately, no. At this time we have no contact with Powercolor.
