MSI GTX 560-Ti/570 Twin Frozr SLI

On a single 1920x1080 monitor, can I expect to see any significant difference in performance between these two of each of these cards in SLI playing games such as Metro 2033 on its highest settings?

yes, the minimum frame rate and the max will be higher on the 570 pair.
you could also try a pair of 6950's :)
and welcome aboard!

If both cards average over sixty frames per second, wouldn't the more inexpensive pair be my best option?

not in metro 2033 :p

actually,let me check..

Would GTX 570s in SLI be practical for anything besides Metro 2033's highest settings in the foreseeable future?

_dangtx_ April 21, 2011 04:50 PM

probably, but i wouldnt buy 570 because of the bang per buck being lower vs the 560,6950...:)

actually, maybe not. because of the frame buffer.

It's your call, more RAM is always better.
That being said, I got a good deal on the MSI Twin frozr II 560Ti OC...got two...

Two links that sold me on the 560Ti SLI....

Anyway, you mileage may vary...I chose lower temps and lower noise versus higher RAM count and the little extra perf the 6950s have over the 560Ti...

I would either go 560Ti in SLI, 6950 Crossfire, of if you consider 570s...it would have to be the twinfrozr III cards with upgraded VRMs...

I absolutely love my Ti 560 Twin Frozr II in SLI set up, mainly due to the performance they deliver for nvidia surround gaming as well as how well they overclock and the scaling performance increase from that.

I absolutely love mines too. But the HAWK ones are nice! I like the "retaining arm" that helps keeping the PCB stiff...

In my case, I use the cabling as a way to keep my twin frozrs straight...

I have just a few questions before I order my cards:

1. Besides Metro 2033 and Crysis: Warhead's absolute maximum settings, are there any games for which SLI GTX 560's would be inadequate?
2. Is there really so much of a difference between, for example, 4x AA and 8x AA on Metro 2033 that it would make a noticeable difference in quality?
3. Aside from the little bit of additional eye candy (i.e. extra AA), is there any other practical use for the firepower of two GTX 570s?
4. Will the amount of VRAM on either cards be sufficient for the near future? I've been told otherwise, but since I have yet to hear of a game or program that actually uses more than 1GB of VRAM under normal circumstances, I have to doubt the credibility of anyone who seems to thinks more RAM is always the solution.
