My System Specs

Default GTX 460 SLI to??

I have both of my MSI Hawk OC 460 GTX 1GBs for sale and am looking to upgrade to a single GPU. I want to go AMD this time. Currently thinking about the 6950. How about it?

Personally i'd stay away from the HD 6xxx series do to the driver issues people have had (including myself) with some of their cards (either in our out of games).

no AMD single GPU would be an upgrade performance-wise over the hawk SLI. If you mean single card then 5970 or 6990 but honestly I wouldn't recommend either card, just get a 580 (and no I'm not an nvidia fan, as a matter of fact I much rather AMD in general, just current gen is a letdown and old gen is...well old gen!)

That's quite a bit of a downgrade. Even a single 470 -> 6950 would be a sideways change. Not sure why you'd really want to swap two cards for one card.

Not with Hawks Dan,

But a 6950 is not nearly as well as an SLI'd set of 460's IMO.

Very good question that was never asked until now, which is a good call.
Anything under a 27" though and the 460's will be more than capable.

That being said if he wants a single card solution that would be a downgrade , and AMD (even though their drivers are a PITA), then a 6970 would be best bet.

My thoughts, neither right nor wrong really.
