If that new card has a backplate? I think I red a review on NCIX of a dude who received a 6970 without back plate.

I remember reading that only the first revisions would come with the "expensive" VOLTERRA VRMs and that the newer revisions would use cheaper VRMs...(wonder if cheaper as "in pricing" automatically translates as CHEAPO in this case).


XFX is dissapointing....custom cards shouldn't rhyme with cheaper to produce, but better, faster, cooler!!!

Instead, they try to sell us cheaper-cooler cards (funky cooling and XXX cards with unstable overclocks)....

that would mean that I would have ~$1200 in graphics cards in play and that is a little much. You see two 570s are out for RMA and in the meantime I bought two 6950's where only one is opened... Any way I look at it I will be selling used cards in the near future.
