Its not always about pipelines but yes the 1900 will kick the 7600's ass. And yes they are both dx9

7600gt has cooling for only the gpu, so OC'ing may bring about some heat concerns for the memory modules. That being said, at tddirect it is only $96 and cheap if you want an SLI setup (I make no comment on whether it is worth it to do so or not). It is 128bit, dual 400mhz RAMDAC, core/ram clock speed of 560/1400, 12 pipelines.

X1900xt has 256bit ddr3, dual RAMDAC also 400mhz, core/ram clock of 625/1400, 16 pipelines.

Looking at that, it appears that the x1900 beats out the gt. However numbers don't tell all and that's the point of reviewers! I'm not too familiar with either GPU to be honest with you so I decline to comment either way.

You can find discussions online about 7600gt vs x1900 xt, especially when it comes to power consumption (x1900 is more), cost (again, x1900 is more), and performance (seems to be suggested that x1900 is better).

I looked at THG's video charts, and although they don't give a comprehensive review, it appears that the x1900 xt beats out the 7600gt in all the tests I looked at.

That's my $0.02

A single X1900 will smoke 7600GT SLI all day long. Not even a contest.
