This can be seen when looking at a wide variety of reviews on the web, not just focusing on a single review.
Anyways, for an apple-to-apple comparison, I'd take the GTX 560Ti over the HD 6950 for BC2. Some reviews show the Nvidia card slightly ahead, others the GTX 560Ti. Of all the reviews I've seen though with minimum framerates, which are arguably more important than average framerates, the GTX 560Ti is ahead at most resolutions (all but 2560 x 1600). This can be seen right here on HardwareCanucks (
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB Review). I will say, though, that the HD 6950 does scale better at very high resolutions with more eye-candy. Probably something to do with the 2GB on the HD 6950.
@ Op: If you go with the 560Ti I'd suggest the MSI Frozr2 card. It can be had for around the same price as the reference cards but comes with a great non-reference cooler and can therefore generally clock very high. Also, the HD 6950 has better power consumption numbers than the GTX 560Ti.
I'm not championing Nvidia or anything. I had originally gone with a 2GB HD 6950 for my build but then went with the GTX 560Ti option after doing a bit more research. I also purchased with BC2 in mind, and for BC3 down the road. I'm also running at 1920x1080.
