Default MSI 570 OC that is stable?? Anyone?

Lol, did anyone buy one of the MSI 570 OC editions and get a stable GPU? I've have mine crash on Just Cause 2 every time I play (with max settings of course)!

I got a different one in my computer right now and it's doing the exact same thing! That's 2 GPUs that are unstable! Grrrrr... Damn, I wish the good price had been on the stock version, not the OC version... Oh well, I thought MSI was a good brand as they make tons of cards that people are 100% satisfied with.

There can be many reasons why JC2 is crashing often in your rig. Not necessarily the blame is on the whole GTX570 model itself.

Check and monitor the temps on your GTX570 and see whether it is caused by overheating. Downclock the card and see if there is any improvement in the situation. If all else fails then most probably it could be the problem with the drivers itself which is the most likely cause of the problem.

Every brand has its ups and downs and your 100% expectation of MSI makes it look worse when it does not perform according to what you want.

I'd like to know what makes you believe the GPU is causing your issues?

Agreed with the above 2 posters. When you try 2 separate cards and still have the same issue, it's time to start considering options beyond just the GPU (unless you just have absolutely AWFUL luck).

Drivers could indeed be the issue as indicated. Have you tried any other games? Tried something that really stresses the GPU like Furmark?

Also, this was a recent upgrade correct? What did you upgrade from, and what PSU are you currently using?

I had SLI GTX 460 1gb and removed them and installed the 570. Did nothing other than install drivers with the clean install option. If I down-clock the 570 to about 750 Mhz, it doesn't crash/freeze JC 2. I did try previous version of drivers too. I ran the same drivers version with both the 570 and SLI 460 setup.

It's pretty obvious it's my GPU. I've run the game with my system at stock everything and the same problem, but considering my SLI 460 was stable with everything else, I just did that for people who would argue "maybe it's something else."

I'm just curious if anyone else is having this much bad luck? I know at least one other person on the forums reported an unstable MSI 570 OC. I'm getting MSI to send me a stock version when I RMA.

My MSI OC has a full cover EK waterblock. Run at 880mhz/1.05v all day long. Had the odd crash at 910.

I bought two MSI GTX 570 OC cards from NCIX two months ago. I run both cards at 900mhz with 1.125v (stock vcore is 1.0v)... temps are under <75C and the cards are stable.

1 hour OCCT GPU test provided 4 errors but didn't crash. I've also noticed that when screen-casting games for youtube, I'm having audio sync issues, which I didn't have in the past. Metro 2033 works surprisingly fine at max settings.
