AMD cards don't fold well, therefore I do not buy them. Nvidia has given me ZERO problems.

Oh god. In testing AMD and NVIDIA cards I have run across my share of issues but the ATI / AMD CCC stands out as a major culprit for me. Sometimes it doesn't install, other times it throws back errors and there are even times when it won't boot because it says the driver isn't installed. I could go on and on...

Actually I will.

AMD's uninstaller blows chunks and leaves a ridiculous amount of crap running around the system

GUID's hang around like little gremlins and screw everything up every now and then.

Support for Crossfire is like playing Russian Roulette. Sometimes the drivers install and both cards are picked up...but not always

I'd have to go home and look at my notes but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Are the 5970s old? Oh well, I had more than one crossfire set up in the past but I found Nvidia to be the least problematic with drivers. Including running SLI.

The reason why I'm limiting it to the latest gen (6xxx & 4xx/5xx) is to allow each company to compete with their latest improvements. Maybe the 6000 series doesn't have issues that plagued the 5000 series? Wouldn't be fair to have the results skewed by hardware that is slowing getting pushed to the back.

Crossfire drivers have made the Stalker Call of Pripyat game for which I made the Complete mod impossible to load on max DX11 settings, making my life difficult and killed the experience of playing it on launch for thousands of gamers around the world. Would never recommend going ATI to anyone.

If you guys know many other members who probably haven't seen this thread/voted, please spread the word. The more people that vote, the more weight these results will have.
