If you get the 6950 go for the 6970 2gb or the 6950 2 gb and unlock it to a 6970

I think you reccomended getting this and selling my old 5770, but I wanna do crossfire so 2GB or vram is perfect for eyefinity.

crossfiring or SLI-ing a card doesn't combine the memory of both cards, it'll still be 1gb.

NCIX also have this one on sale: reference-like cooler+ 1GB:

NCIX.com - Buy XFX Radeon HD 6950 800MHZ 1GB 5GHZ GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Video Card - XFX - HD695XZNFC - in Canada

And this one, a XFX XXX card, but with the dual-fan this time...also on sale...

NCIX.com - Buy XFX Radeon HD 6950 XXX 830MHZ 1GB 5.2GHZ DDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2XMINI DisplayPort Video Card - XFX - HD695XZDDC - in Canada

Anyway, you can get a Saphire HD6950 2GB for $279.99 and a ASUS HD6950 (aluminum shroud) for $289.99.

Those HD6950s are good if: You UNLOCK, or if you CROSSFIRE, and/or CROSSFIRE + EYEFINITY....

If not, a cheaper HD5870 on sale would be good enough and equivalent to the HD6950 in most games....

A sapphire 6950 2GB is CAD 280 this week: NCIX.com - Buy Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Video Card - SAPPHIRE - 21188-00-40R - in Canada .
That is only 40 CAD more than the xfx 1GB, without the mail in rebate.

BTW, games such as Dragon age 2 need lost of video ram for the high res textures. and I suspect that there will be more such games in the near future.
