Need a little help to make up my mind Here!!!

Hi Guys:
I have been looking around for a new video card for some time now and I have narrowed it down to these two :Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5
Or this one here
MSI Nvidia GeForce 560GTX Twin Frozr II
Both are in my budget :thumb:
Any help would be great as I would like to get this card tommorrow the 10th
Thx again.

I am using a 6950 and its a great card, easily can oc to match the speeds of 6970, ( unlocking is possible on old stock as well) but overall its a great card, people say nvidia drivers are better, but I havent had any problems with amd drivers.

Both are going to give very similar overall performance, but to attempt to pick one out of the 2 I would ask the following questions.

What are the prices? Do you have a need for 3 monitor support? Do you want to fold? What games do you play (some games run better on one brand or the other)? What resolution do you game at? Will you OC it or run it stock?

go for the ati if you dont fold, that 2gb buffer helps up top :)

Lol, if you could find a Gigabyte SOC in stock, it would be a no brainer imo. Sadly, you can't, so it's a bit of a toss up. As stated above, the 6950 2GB will help with resolutions higher than 1920x1200 and setting high AA modes. Unless you like the nVidia technologies (CUDA, F@H, PhysX, etc) then I'd say get the 6950 IF you can find a 2GB model for under $260 as it's only worth about $30 more than the 560 imo. Then again, if you're an unlocker and want to gamble on that... I'm not touching that :)

Thx for the replies guys
Desktop runs @ 1920X1200 (I think thats it?)
No oc ing here
I just want it to look better ingame then my 460 (L4D2,BF2)
The 560 is $257
And the 6950 2 gig is $289

you can get s 6950 cheaper than that, ncix has one here

NCIX.com - Buy XFX Radeon HD 6950 800MHZ 1GB 5GHZ GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Video Card - XFX - HD695XZNFC - in Canada

I'd recommend the 560 Ti as i have two of them running and they work great. Not to mention it seems AMD dropped the ball on decent driver support for a lot of hd 6xxx series cards and its sounding like more and more people are having driver issues. I left AMD 6870s due to poor crossfire and eyefinity support myself.

I think you'll get more from your 6950 2gb as long as you're not folding.
