I have gone from:
1x 5770
2x 5770
1x 5870
1x 5850

2x 5770 is NOT good for gaming imo. Tons of stuttering, doesn't matter how well you install and clean your drivers. Went from 10.3 to 10.8 at that time, and not a single improvement in any of the driver updates.

1x 5770 ran just as well as 2x 5770 in some games. In some games, 2x 5770 will double the framerates. But all that performance is NOTHING when you get stutters and even messed up textures in some games like GTA4.

Going from 2x 5770 to 1x 5870 was like night and day. Games feel so much smoother, i can't believe i adapted to the mini stutters when i was using 2x 5770.

When i found someone to buy my 5870 for nearly $450, i went and bought a reference 5850 for $160 off CL and overclocked it past 5870 speeds at stock voltage. With the overclocked 5850, i get only 1-2 fps less than the 5870 in the games i play: L4D2, Crysis, MW2 (maxed out FPS no matter what) and others.

Just post an AD up on here... we have a Buy/Sell/Trade section, so be sure to follow all the rules and you'll be fine.

BUT DO NOT sell it to a store, they will rip you off (If they even agree to it).

That way you have a better performing gaming rig for the money, plus you have a real good chance to unlock the HD 6950 to a HD 6970, which would make your dollars go even further.

If you're hell-bent on the ram, then the extra $10 for the HD 6870 is worth it over the HD 5850.

I know what Im going to do!!! Im going to hold off on buying a new video card and buy another 4GB of ram as you suggested, I;ve been meaning to buy another 4GB of the exact same ram before they discontinue it!
Another thing is I really want that stupid window on my case already, the grill just lets so much dust into the case.

When I have enough for a 6870 will people still want to buy a 5770 by then!?!?!?

THANKS SO MUCH YUKON I love you!
Thanks for the suggestions Im so excited! I do a lot of video edititng and ETC simultaniously, I need that ram.

I sitll want to crossfire my 5770s just because it looks cool, but its not practical. I have a lot of space in my case though.

READ THIS: If I did just so happen to crossfire do you REALLY REALLY think it is that bad in the end? I get those texture errors in GTA IV like someone mentioned with my 1 5770 already so..
I just want to delay my buying of another video card for a few years, but is the suttering THAT bad? like how bad is it?!?!?

Okay so this is what I would do

First buy this: XFX Radeon HD 6950 XXX 830MHZ 1GB 5.2GHZ GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Video Card: HD695XZNDC at BEST PRICE

You aren't going to get a better card for your money than that.

Then you sell your 5770 and buy ram.
