Need suggestions for a Aesthetic GPU
 

Hey HWC,

I'm working on a new build staring white silverstone raven see WIP thread: Here

Now currently I'm using two gtx 460 1gb cards from MSI with cyclone coolers seen below.

I feel these cards don't fit in with the new project so I'll probably be selling them off. I need some suggestions for a decent GPU that features a matte black PCB, black shroud with minimal logos or removable logos and possibly a little bit of red flare. I prefer Nvidia but could be persuaded ATI if a good argument is present.

Some possibilities I've looked at are:
Asus gtx 560 Ti TOP
used or new EVGA gtx 470
any stock cooler 570
a used 480 (the heatpipes turn me off on this one)

Any recommendations?

570 with a Backplate

Asus gtx 560 Ti top is pretty hot, rjbarker suggestion is good too.. the backplates adds a nice look... google image evga gtx 570 with backplate.

i think a 6950 would fit the bill...

I have to admit I love the XFX 6950. Full backplate on it with nice red accents down the side.

Personally i quite like how the MSI 560 Ti Twin Frozr looks, performs great too

This has a front that has the black look and also a skull that might meet your needs.
"Call of Duty" in white on the top with nVidia logo - so if you like COD that could be a plus.
With an EVGA backplate that you can paint easily to your desire.
Plus on the performance side it's a 580 :)

me too... i just compared my hd xfx 6950 and gtx 285... gtx 285 is wayyy uglier... (of course its old) but it also had backplate... so one point plus...

you also can use hwc's round 560 ti round review because you can compare all msi, gigatybe, evga and asus...

but for your project so i thought msi gtx 560 ti would be best suitable... almost white block...

So far I leaning towards ordering a 570 from EVGA and a back plate it seems to be a very nice fit.

I also really like the 6950 but I've always had problems with ati/amd cards, such as not waking after hibernation or the dreaded SC2 cursor but as I play alot of SC2.

As for MSI cards, their PCBs are usualy dark brown rather than matte black and I don't think the silvery shroud is a good fit.

Or any Twin Frozr really.

Definitely wouldn't suggest any other HD 6-series card. They are so damned ugly. :biggrin:
