Default 1-3 Year vs Lifetime Warranty

Hey guys!
With the recent arrival of several solid video cards (especially Nvidia), I've been looking at upgrading and giving my 8800 GTS 512 the ol' boot. Besides trying to decide between a 560 Ti and 570, the warranty length has essentially been my primary concern. I know most people upgrade every couple years, if not sooner, so the lifetime warranty is pretty moot for some, but for someone like me who has kept their video card for 4+ years now, the ability to have a lifetime warranty is very enticing.

Is the Lifetime warranty enough to sway you from one brand to another?

if youre the type of person to keep the card forever? yes.
question is,even though the company is strong, how do you know that 4 years from now
they're still going to be in business,or still covering your product?
just a thought. i usually go with good brands, so unless the warranty is just one year? meh.

I've always eyed the EVGA don't get me wrong. But take my current situation as an example. I would prefer a GTX 570 at this point. The EVGA one goes for ~$350. There's an MSI GTX 570 on sale for ~300. Is the 50 bucks enough to make you skimp out on a life time warranty?

And I hear ya on that one dan, especially when I look back at BFG and what happened there.

PNY or EVGA.

And I do agree with Dan, you can never tell. So just like anything else its a roll of the dice.

im saying this because if you have to pay even 20 dollars more to get lifetime vs 3 years....

not worth it for 99.99% of people.

Keywork, do you only play games from the past 4 years? The 8800GT isn't a bad card by any means, but if you plan on playing new releases each year, after year 3 wouldn't you want to upgrade your card?

Just my 2 cents.

I haven't played many new games recently besides all of the Call of Duty's and Battlefields, etc. I'd like to mention I have 2 Dell 2209WA's so I only game at 1680X1050. Another thing that's slightly pushing me to upgrade is the yearning for a PPD bump, hence the GTX 570 choice. Folding also puts extra strain on the GPU so the warranty also eases the mind there (although my 8800 has been folding since day 1 with only a few hiccups over the years).

Lifetime warranty is nice to have if you keep stuff long term, and it generally increases the resale value if you go to sell it.
