Anyone running HD6950/6970 crossfire?

I am having an issue w/ my HD6950 crossfire where GPU2 always runs @ 100% usage even in the desktop. I've tried the Cat 10.12s and the 11.1s. Both w/ the same result. I have no overclocking software installed. I've tried installing just the display drivers. Everything always results in it running 100% utilization.

Do you have dual monitors?

I believe Arinoth had this issue with his Crossfire 6870s which is why he moved to 560s.

I've been told the 10.12a drivers might work. Too busy overclocking the 2600k to try it out though.

If I take a card out of the system and run them individually the GPU usage drops back down to 0%. And each of them work properly. However just disabling Crossfire in CCC does not work.

k, might be shooting blind here, but is it always gpu2? i mean if you switch cards around, disabled or not xf, its still goes full bore no?

im not telling you to do it, but i jump the gun and work the bios myself when i see the drivers are of no help.

Yes I've swapped them around and it is always GPU2.

Did you apply that registry fix or more of a work around for xfire. Apparently, its something to do with power (ULPS) management. I dunno if that helps or will work at all...just throwing it out there.

After reading about that issue again...i doubt that would help.
