add a secong 480, or buy a 580 or change to the red team

What are the option for an earlier adopter foul enough to purchase a non-ready product like the gtx 480, and add Ek water block to discover few month later than Nvidia release what’s to look a more finish product like the 570 (who smash my 480) and a 580 even more powerful, do I purchase another 480 at very high price and sli it, or I switch to a gtx 580. Or even switch to the red company and lesser the feeling that Nvidia crook me with a non-finish product that cost me near $ 700 with the water block. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

if you can get SLI you can buy 2 GTX 560TI for the price of ONE 580 and have more performance out of the box, overclock the 2 560 and your looking at an even bigger performance increase

Go with another 480 as they can be found for pretty cheap. The 480 is NOT a failure in my books.

i agree with this also, either get a another 480, or sell it and get 2 560's, or just stick with the 480 itself cause at Q3/Q4 of this year the 680/780 will come out you know? then your gunna be mad about getting a 500 series LOL

Id go with the 480 myself. Ive got one watercooled and will be very soon looking for a 2nd one myself so I can play Metro 2033 higher than 50fps.

where do you find them pretty cheap, I just look at new egg, nothing under $ 400 that's $ 50 more than a 570 that perform better. at $ 350 for a GTX 480 I will have not even make this post and get it right away...

_dangtx_ January 26, 2011 05:48 PM

he probably meant used. when the 580's hit i nailed some good deals, if memory doesnt fail me 425 for a pair :)

I was debating pretty much the same to grab a second 5870...but it's hard to fork $300 to buy an older gen card (like the OP with his 480), when for the same price you get better stuff...

Go 560 Ti, thats what i'm going as i just parted with my 6870s
