Question GPU Upgrade...input wanted

I have been looking and studying the specs of various cards, like 460, 570, 6850, 6870 and so on. Which model is the best for the long term (won't need to update again for say 3 years) without costing mega loonies.

Perhaps wait for 560? But from what we can see, the prices aren't very good (compared to 570). But wait for official prices and benchmarks.

I'd say go with the 460 or the 6850, I say 460 cause I like nvidia better, or you could wait to see how the gtx 560 performs when it comes out.

Heckovadeal if you sli in future:
NCIX.com - Buy EVGA GeForce GTX 460 Superclocked Fermi 763MHZ 768MB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini-HDMI PCI-E DX11 Video Card - 768-P3-1362-TR In Canada.

My pick for a single card:
NCIX.com - Buy MSI GeForce GTX 570 Fermi 732MHZ 1280MB 3.8GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Mini-HDMI PCI-E DirectX 11 Video Card - N570GTX-M2D12D5 In Canada.

+1. The 460s are great bang for the buck. And they overclock like mad as well if you're into that. The 560s should be good, but not worth the increased cost but lets hope nvidia surprises us.

in 24 hours supposedly well see gtx 560 reviews. supposedly :)

right now id take a 6850.

as i said in the other thread, the difference will be there but not earth shattering, except in titles that do dx11 whereas your card cannot.
