XFX 6950 + CRT as a secondary monitor I just bought the XFX 6950. So far so good, a very good upgrade from my 4890. However, i can't connect my CRT monitor to the secondary DVI output (besides the exhaust). If i switch between my LCD and CRT monitor, DVI output 1 works. It both recognizes it. But if i put the LCD on the output 1 and the CRT on output 2 (or vice versa), extended desktop wont work. I went to CCC and look for the secondary panel, it doesnt show up. But if i go to my desktop and right click, i have to force it to connect by VGA. But yet, it still wont save the changes. Does the card support VGA at all or no? |
Only the main one next to the two mini display ports supports VGA and dual-link DVI. If your LCD resolution is 1920x1200 or less, bump that to the bottom DVI slot and use the DVI->VGA converter on the top one. If you look at the pci slot bracket you can see an embossed "VGA" text. Or you can buy a minidisplay port->VGA converter on amazon for $10 |
What a N00b mistake... Thanks Brian! |
