You really have a lot of options to choose from... you could even go the green team route and enable SLI on your board

are the 4850's "dying dying".. or just getting old, i had a 4850 crap out on me so i know the feeling they were good cards, but didnt seem to have much longivity (in my case at least) i am kinda in your boat right now, sitting with a 5770, and wanting to upgrade, running a res of 1920X1080....i have been looking at 6870 and 6950, but current vendor prices of 6950 is around $410 taxes included...bit too much for me selling my 5770 for $100... (yes etailers are cheaper but want to support local)...ne who....by the sounds of it, i would go with a 6950 while they are fresh for your 22" see if the shader unlock works, buy your 24" and see how gaming goes...i think you will bew over satisfied with it, and have the option for adding another, or adding a 6870 pening a succesful unlock as i have heard others do......thats my two cents pal...cheers and happy gaming...
