Default 76'0 c in game too hot ?

what kind of temperature is considered 'too hot' for a card to run at?
it idles around 32 just sitting at the desktop. but goes much higher obviously.
this is a gtx580 with
haf932 case
rampage formula iii mobo, i7950 cpu

i also have the corsair h70 water cooler hooked up pull air in, with the resistors plugged in to turn the fan speed from 2000rpm to 1600. stock fans on the case, didnt change anything, except removing the CM fan at the back to replace with H70.

should i change the push/pull configuration in my case? or basically should i be concerned at all for these in game (bf:bc2, civ5 for example) temps of up to 76'0?

Dont worry about that. 76 is just fine for a video card. Start worrying if it cranks above 90-95c

can it be pushed hotter? for OC'ing or what not? im using the program 'msi afterburner' for monitoring there is a simple slider where i can push the core clock/ shader clock much further than stock. how hot can it go and be in a safe zone?

5 series are tweaked 4 series. now any 4 series owner will tell you that they run pig hot. as in around meta's numbers when case temps arent seriously cool and the fan not on 75+ %.

so youre good up to maybe...80-90?

90 is where I'd start to worry a little bit. 95 is when you need to adjust the fan speed permanently :P

You definitely have some OC'ing headroom.

Is that with a full coverage block or a gpu block + sinks for mem and VRM?
Im asking because my gtx 480 runs 875/1750/4200 all day every day running einstein@home and the gpu has never once gone over 50 degrees.

I used to have my 480's at 100c for very long periods of time. It got up to 105c a few times. You are way under the thermal threshold.
