Dell said that the warranty for the cards would be as per the warranty of my Area 51 which is 3 years provided of course, that they be installed ONLY on my Alienware.

The 580s I got are EVGA. Nice Poster included. As you said,no biggie.

I just thought of something, IS there a difference in where the cards come from? Is EVGA different in any way compared to others? Thanks.

The only difference would be if they were clocked differently than standard referance models. Otherwise, no.

You said that the cards are coming from EVGA....

What is their model number??? I mean if by chance they sent you -AR cards, you can register them within 30 days with EVGA to get their lifetime warranty!!!!!

It applies to cards with the suffix AR at the end of the model number...

For example: 015-P3-1580-AR

The -TR cards are warrantied for 3 years...anyway, good cards and enjoy the 580 SLI let us know how you're making out!

I might settle for 570's in SLI...one day...lol

I'm not making out very good at all with these cards. I can't install the drivers no matter what I do. The computer keeps on re-booting until I push the power button off. After I restart the machine, all appears well until I try ANYTHING related to the Video settings. As soon as I try to open the Nvidia control, the computer starts to reboot again. Any Ideas? I can call Dell, but I do not look forward to several hours of 'tests' etc. Thanks.

You have an 1100w psu...what brand is it? Any specs? Do you have another PSU to try? Also double-check that you have used proper power connectors and that they are fully inserted.

Also make sure that when you installed the drivers from nVidia, you selected the "Clean" install option to get rid of all the old driver stuff (believe its found in "Custom" install).
