P.S. If you had $3,391.30 plus tax's and applicable fees burning a hole in your pocket you can get the
Samsung MD230X6 for yourself. |
Those are the best multi display setups using the worst panels ever! Can't say I owned or used the MD230 but all reviewers of it complained about the ghosting.
With your 6870, I'd stick with your current diplays as its FPS will take a massive hit form the pixel increase of three 1920x1080 displays. Upgrading your display along with your GPU, either by swapping or adding should be the way to go.
As for 30"ers, lack of competition allowed Dell and HP to raise their prices but Hazro came to the rescue!

Currently they only ship their monitors from the UK for a fee.
Nonetheless, I think we are one generation away from having affordable GPUs capable of handling multi displays at max. resolution & smooth frame rates. I am currently saving for 2011 CPU, HD79xx CF/GTX670 SLI, and three of those Hazros for a 7680x1600 setup.

I recommend doing that as games in 2011 are developed with the antique PS3&Xbox360 in mind and don't seem promising from a technological point of view.
