I was thinking about getting this graphics card, since they are more plentiful then that 8800GT's not to mention the cooling solution on HIS ICEQ series is far more superior.

I'll have to find the review but from what I read at idle it's around 22db and at load between 30-40db

40 decibels is pretty brutal by computer standards, although no two decibels are ever the same. These days, it seems that all the quietest video card cooling is done aftermarket.

When gaming with headphones I'm sure the noise from the game will drown out the noise level of the fan on the video card.

Just like gaming with a loud speaker system. I would dare say the ICE-Q version will be far quieter than the stock equipped ATI version.
