My System Specs

Default What graphics card do I pick for my HTPC

So I got down to 2 cards for my htpc, I've been told they will process the larger .mkv movie files better then just the onboard hdmi port. I've got it down to two,

NCIX.com - Buy MSI GeForce GT 210 589MHZ 512MB DDR3 PCI-E VGA DVI HDMI HDCP Low Profile Video Card - N210-MD512D3H/LP In Canada.
For $12.99 after the rebate

Or

Newegg.ca - ZOTAC Synergy Edition ZT-20303-10L GeForce 210 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
For $25 after the rebate

Please help suggest one quick, or should I just stick to my onboard HDMI?...It's such a tough choice...

You do not need an external graphics card. The onboard graphics card provided you run say at least 2 GB of ram will have no problems with 1080p HD playback as it has onboard an HD 4290 which is the next generation onboard gpu compared to my HTPC which has 0 issues with 1080p playback.

I've always been buying 8400GS for all my HTPCs and non-gaming machines and had no problems, I mean if you gonna get a weak card, why not get the weakest and 0db silent for $25.
