That is really tempting, but ... must... resist.

Newegg is still doing 15% paypal cashback. I bought the XFX 6950 for $309.99.. difference between this deal and NewEgg after tax + cash back is only $5... but you get double lifetime warranty.
Purchased mine around lunch time, and it's already sent out to Purolator!

That would have been the idea however it was capped at $50 max cash back, and now it's expired! :(

This is the great thing about Newegg. Always shipped out the day you place the order or the next at the latest. I really wish NCIX was this responsive at processing orders.

Now that XFX adds the void warranty if removed stickers on their HSF screws, I doubt I'll be buying another one of their cards unfortunately.

Scared me until I found this thread:
NCIX FORUMS - "Warranty Void if Removed" stickers on ... - XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI...

Took me a bit of digging but I found where XFX Support explicitly states we can change the cooler on cards registered for North American warranty:
[H]ard|Forum - View Single Post - New XFX 6850 Heatsink Design

"The North American warranty covers removing the cooler for third party coolers and replacing thermal paste. The cards are made for our entire global market so the stickers are on every card but it is allowed in the North American warranty to remove the cooler. The warranty information that ships with the cards describes it on the first page in the third or fourth paragraph. Basically, we do not recommend removing the cooler for any reason but we understand that the enthusiast crowd will want to and it is allowed."

it would have been nice to ordered xfx 6950 from newegg.ca with the paypal discount.. oh well, as consolation I see that NCIX accepted the PM! there are not many Powercolor 6950 left there at all!
